KANFANAR (natural stone base) Installation on the roof terrace/terrace (solid floor)
Natural stone foundations can be installed on both roof terraces and ground level terraces. In such cases, it is advisable to secure the foundation blocks using a powder-coated steel load distribution plate attached to the bottom, which is bolted from below. It should be noted that if installed without this securing plate, strong wind forces can knock the element over, which can not only cause damage to the element but also cause personal injury.
The static loads on roof terraces/balconies must be taken into account (permissible permanent/non-permanent loads). We recommend having the statics checked by a specialist.
Further suitability/tips: Trade fair, indoor, outdoor trade fair

Notes on natural stone
Natural stones can vary in color and structure. Samples can only reflect the type, not all variants. Inclusions such as spots and veins are typical for natural stone and do not give rise to complaints. Deviations from hand samples to the final product are naturally to be expected. These partial foundations are made of the beautiful Kanfanar® limestone, which has a light yellow to beige color.Kanfanar® limestone is also colloquially known as Giallo d'Istria (which translated from Italian means something like "the yellow of Istria").The prominent limestone from Croatia with its elegant appearance has influenced many coastal cities in the Mediterranean region (e.g. Venice) for centuries. Everyone knows the prominent natural stone from the north of Croatia. With its vibrant beige, it has influenced the architecture and processing standards in the coastal cities of the Mediterranean region for centuries. But other limestones from this region such as Kirmenjak, Plano or Mironja also have a long history of use throughout Europe. The many bathing bays would certainly be only half as beautiful without the many bright facades of the Mediterranean buildings. Incidentally, Venice is made up largely of Croatian limestone from Istria - from the cultural monuments of the lagoon city, the pretty fountains, the spacious entrance halls, the expansive balustrades, the brine baths, the floor slabs and tiles to picturesque wall cladding. Its diverse uses speak for its high resistance. The hydrophobic treatment process makes it even more resistant to water. The water absorption of salt water is reduced by its high density. Kanfanar itself is not only the name of this beautiful piece of limestone, but also the name of the place in Istria. Very close to Kanfanar®, this wonderful natural stone is extracted from a quarry, mostly underground. The mining of Kanfanar® limestone offers the local people a secure job. Many families there have been making a living from natural stone extraction for generations. The quarrying area is over 100 hectares in size and a single block can weigh up to 40 tonnes when it is taken out of the rock. Of course, a chunk like this is not suitable for transport. The pieces first have to be cut up into 12-15 tonne blocks. From there they travel to Pazin, around 20 km away. Our long-term partner, Kamen dd Pazin, then produces the end product from the stone blocks. Using the latest technology, the company produces floor slabs, steps and wall stones in various formats. For special orders, the stonemasons also use hammers and chisels. Over 400 people work at Kamen dd Pazin and are an important economic factor for the region. The natural stone Kanfanar® is the royal chameleon among limestones. Its surface can be processed in a variety of ways. Flames, water pressure, compressed air and metal tools create a new look and feel every time. The Kanfanar® is flamed, bush-hammered, sharpened, polished, brushed and blasted. This allows the surface to show off all its magnificent diversity. Such versatility is rarely found among the usually sensitive limestones.
